WE ARE VERY HAPPY
TO BE PART OF THE FIRST EDITION OF HAUS
WITH A SOLO PRESENTATION BY
four monitors showing nine short films of roughly five minutes each.
recorded over a three year (pre-)pandemic late capitalist timespan.
edited in spectral waters of talk poems, arcades and The Real Real.
disorder, serendipity, waking, walking, eating, shopping.
narrative enters and re-centers.
audience enters, re-centers.
response, duets, challenges, nods.
never-ending series of (un-)productive mini-variations.
camera follows image follows stuff follows back
my so-called life.
Originally trained as an architect, Jiajia is culturally both Chinese and Swiss,
and her rigorous and quite moving artistic practice—which moves deftly between film, writing, sculpture, and installation—mediates between common materials, relational and representative space, myriad political perspectives, and the diaristic poetry of the everyday.
